Testing Services for Yarns

Following tests are carried out for the yarn samples meant for export :

(a) Count and Count CV%

(b) Single Yarn Strength (RKM) and strength CV%.

(c) Uster Unevenness (U%)

(d) Imperfections (Thin Places, Thick Places, Neps)

(e) Twist & Twist CV%

(f) Yarn Appearance Grade

SAMPLING PROCEDURE FOR YARN TESTING

We are adopting the following procedure for the testing of Yarns :

(A) SAMPLING FOR SHOP FLOOR (ON-LINE)

(a)	Choose at random 2 Ring Bobbins per frame - One from each side for all the frames running on the same mixing/count.
(b)	The total number of Bobbins collected should not be less than 20.
(c)	2 leas to be taken from each bobbin for count and lea strength testing.
(d)	Average value for count and strength to be calculated
(e)	Count CV and Strength CV to be calculated
(f)	Uster Unevenness and imperfections to be determined from the above samples.

(B) FOR OUTGOING YARNS

5 cones should be selected from each case/bale at random where the number of cases selected are upto 5. Where the number of cases selected are above 5, 3 cones should taken from each case/bale.
