Sampling Procedure for FABRIC Testing

Sampling for Shop Floor (On-line)

Collect at random 3 samples per loom - One each from 2 selvedges and one from centre for 25% of the looms running on the same sort

The total number of samples collected should not be less than 20

Check for

     Warp Ends & Picks per cm

     Warp & Weft counts

     Grams per Square Meter (GSM)

     Major Defects

For Outgoing Fabrics

No. of Bales & Cases to be chosen from a lot for Fabric Testing

Lot Size (Bales or Cases)	No. of Bales or Cases to be chosen
2 to 8	2
9 to 15	3
16 to 25	5
26 to 50	8
51 & above	13

4 samples should be selected from each case / bale at random where the numbers of cases selected are upto 5. Where the number of cases selected are above 5, 2 cones should be taken from each case / bale. Testing will be done as per requirements of buyer.
